Boob Trap

We're back! booyah!

Firstly a word on the art. This is how its going to be from now on, really nifty vectored backgrounds, black and white sketches of characters, maybe with a special piece of full color stuff now and then. Vector ink just takes too long. By too long I mean like 8 hours per panel, minimum. So instead you're getting the partial ink partial vector. Of course theres going to be some extra special stuff here and there, in the archives, and non comic related art on occaision.

Also if you're looking at this during the first portion of the day the website is regular ugliness, but I remain optimistic that by the end of the day I'd will be reworked to a crisp clean professional demeanor. When that happens you'll see alot going away with it though. All our extras will be hidden until we can clean up the other pages as well, the tagboard is going away, possibly forever, it's fluffing up my website with popups and that I do not like. The forum will still be active for those who want to leave comments. Also this blog is gonna go the way of the dodo. I don't know what we'll add for a new newspost, but for the moment, this'll prolly be going away too. Until then, see you in the funny pages!

It's True!!!

I've been working on it alot for the last few weeks hopefully by the end of next month we'll be up and running at full steam. They won't be eniterly in vector format, it just takes too long. This construction thing took me most of my saturday. I'm hoping between now and then to be able to put some guest art up, so if you have an extra minute or two, help a brother out.

Nothing funny when we come back, we're going to pick up right where we left off, so refamiliarize yourself with the last month or so of regular updates in the archive.

I'm hoping to have a new complete site design too! If I can get Ryan's lazy ass too work

See you in the funny papers!

Status Quo

Don't think that just because I updated once that I'ma start updating regularly again. Unfortunately not the case. I am however, trying to work on the comic much more. It just takes much much longer to prduce the better looking pieces. Now that I'm working a regular day job instead of cooking I don't have as much unscheduled time to do art either. My current plan is to try to completely finish a storyline on this end and then start posting it regularly. So it will probably be months before that time, but I think the point is that it's not dead yet.

Thanks to everyone who's still checking the comic periodically. I really appreciate your support. Per request I got the voting button working again. Hopefully in a few months I'll have the whole next storyline ready for you guys.

See you  in the funny pages!

Fucking Blog

I spent my whole fifteen minute break typing up a blo about the status of the comic and the future thereof. I hit publish and a little window popped up that said "fuck you" and shut the whole thing down. So now you'll never know it's contents.

Write an angry letter to your local congressman.

Pants

Just to let you know, I'm working 80 hours a week. So comics are going to as irregular as you can think. I get an hour lunch break 2 days a week, I'll try to draw then, but I may spend that time doing modern day witchdoctor comics because they're far quicker to do. MDW is updating regularly at the moment by the way. We'll see how long that lasts.

See you in the funny pages,

Potion

Ok, I'm a few days late, but really it's due to the extrodinary effort I put into the comic. Everything's in vector now, including the background, although I think I did a pretty decent job maintaining the crayon look. I've been working on this for the last 4 days pretty much exclusively. I'm trying to alternate between one art piece and one comic. That may all change though when my workload shortly increases. See you in the funny pages!

Punchline

I LIVE! Before anything else I wanna thank everyone who's been sticking with us despite my sudden disappearance. Theres a good number of you and I really do appreciate it. Now, I think I owe you guys some kind of explaination. Well, some of the people I met at Portcon know I was working on doing some art with vectors for the first time. Since then I've been spending far too much time on Paintshop Pro making original vector art pieces for me DA account. Theres 10 or so different pieces, and while they're not comics if you've become attracted to my style at all I'd recommend checking them out. Some of them, at the risk of sounding egotistical, are pretty sweet. The thing is the quality of these things are directly proportional to the amount of time I'm willing to spend on each piece. And being anal retentive about art, and details that no one will ever notice but me, keeps me up till 6am often working on this stuff. After that I have a full day of work, last week I worked 47 hours. And I'm looking to pick up a second day job. I've been so preoccupied with the vector art over the comic because there exists the opportunity to get some actual design work. I already possibly have 2 jobs coming up, possibly one for Deep Dish (which blows my peanut sized mind.)

You may notice that today's comic is in vector as well. It takes more time, but I love the way it looks and vector's so versitile I can change details without having to draw a whole new picture which, in the long run will hopefully cut down on the time it takes to create each comic. Plus I'm to anal to create a substandard comic when I have the equipment necessary to make a really pretty one.

So what this all adds up to is that comics may continue to be a little sporadic, although I expect a little more than one a month like july, more like one a week. I promise I'm not abandoning the comic in anyway though. If you're ever curious about whats going on with a late comic or the status of things theres about a hundred ways to get in touch with me. I won't leave you hanging

See you in the funny pages,

Nate

Portcon Sketchbook

Well it's been a while since I've popped up a news post. I have plenty to talk about anyway. I just got back from Portcon, as you could probably tell from this update. So I should probably do my shoutouts now to my fellow comic artists. The guys from Life for Breakfast shared a table with me in the quiet corner, and had to put up with me for the weekend. Then there was the ever popular Dave Lister from Paradox Lost, with his hot cosplay fans. Instant Cassic was a smart guy. Dominic Deegan had beautiful man-hair. Then there was Nami (who's in the sketchbook) and Rika from Seraphic Blue. The guy from Applegeeks was a wicked nice guy, and the girl from Shine Get Dumplings Go-Go Tower was a cutie. Finally on the otherside of the room were the guys from Prototype, peddling their print comic, who are telling me about an online project coming up. If I missed anyone it was because they were entirely unremarkable.MDW has hit a snag in updates. Partly because of writers block, partly beasue of City of Heros, partly because of work, and partly because I discovered I have a program that does vectors, that I've been playing with for the last week. Hopefully I'll be back on my regular schedule with it by next week. A new CAP story arc will begin in a week or so a well. See you in the funny pages.

Blatant Lie

Rule #1 of Children At Play. If you can't think of a punch line, have someone drop kick Ryan. I've been playing alot of City of Heros lately. If anyone sees Po' Lazarus, thats me. I'm trying to cut back to get comic work done. I'd say theres mixed results. Other than that not much going on. Going up to Portcon soon. See you in the funny pages.
